Pirelli Palace

It exhibits classical windows with beautiful portal and Baroque loggia at the front overlooking the cathedral.

The old sixteenth century Catalan-Durazzo doorway opens out onto Antonietta De Pace street.

Noteworthy is the ceiling of the previous entrance to the palace which, since 1800, has become a chemist’s. It still preserves the original garlanded stone decorations with grotesque masks and a tile representing an armed Minerva with a holy rooster, a fountain with the horn of plenty and the rudder in the middle. Also the chemist’s is appealing for its original furnishings which the present owners Arlotta-Provenzano take care of.

It belonged to the noble Pirelli family that died out with Pasquale in the 18th century.
